In the last couple of
decades technology has made its way into our everyday lives including our
homes, our offices and the vehicles we use for travelling. Almost everything is
connected nowadays and needs to communicate. As almost every device needs to
communicate with each other therefore with the current available technologies
the Spectrum is getting scared. Hence there is a need of more Spectrum and due
to the population of such Wi-Fi signals it is also getting hazardous for health
as Wi-Fi studies show that Wi-Fi causes oxidative stress, sperm/testicular
damage, neuropsychiatric effects including EEG changes, apoptosis, cellular DNA
damage, endocrine changes, and calcium overload. And the requirement of more
speed is also getting more wanted these days.
Visible light
Communication was first presented by Harald Hass in the year 2011 to TED. It
actually uses normal Visible light spectrum as its transmission medium, Normal
LED light as its transmitter and Solar panel as its receiver.
Such a System is not
yet available with the open Source and real time system design and availability
of its spectral length is to ensure the smooth transmission of the dynamically
changing data with health-friendly Transmission signals. The making of this
system is to demonstrate how real time dynamic data can be sent over li-fi and
received over the other end using the solar panel.
This paper provides
an explanation of the newly developed technology that is Li-Fi. The paper will
discuss the architecture, modulation, performance, and the challenges. The
structure of this paper is as follows: in the remaining part of this section we
will discuss the Li-Fi concept based on VLC. In section 3 we discuss the
architecture of Li-Fi. In section 4 we further analyze the performance of Li-Fi
based on the rate, speed and security compared with the Wi-Fi. In section 5 we
discuss the challenge in Li-Fi technology, it includes a future research based
on the security issue. All the results of this paper are summarized in section
6. The result of this paper can be used as a reference and knowledge when
developing a Li-Fi technology.
Applications
With the short wave
radiation as used by Li-Fi, the communications cannot penetrate through walls and
doors. This makes it more secure and makes it easier to control access to a
network. As long as transparent materials like windows are covered, access to a
Li-Fi channel is limited to devices inside the room.
We can use the li-fi
technology in many ways like:

Home and building automation’s;
·
Underwater application.
·
Aviation’s.
·
Hospitals.
·
Vehicles.
